Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Local officials said the urban area came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

He said energy workers and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
